The winners of ERC Starting grants to receive 628 millions euro

ERC released the results of STG 202 call. Three grants also go to Czechia!

A total of 400 researchers, working in 24 European countries, succeeded in the ERC Starting Grants call with the deadline on 25 October 2022. The ERC starting grants will help create up to 2000 new positions in teams of postdoctoral researchers with two to seven years of experience and provide enough funds to implement proposed projects.

The grants will support scientific projects in various areas of soft and hard sciences. Three grants also go to the Czech Republic. Specifically to Charles University in Prague and Masaryk University. CZELO congratulates to all three winners, the complete list of grant holders can be found on the ERC website.

The call attracted 2696 project proposals, which were assessed by panels of renowned researchers from around the world. The laureates proposed to implement their projects at universities and research centers in 24 European countries, primarily in Germany (87 projects), France (50), the Netherlands (44) and Great Britain (32). Among the winners of the challenge are nationals of 44 countries, notably Germans (66 researchers), Italians (57), French (32) and Dutch (27).
