Join the Pilot Action on Partnerships for Regional Innovation!

The Joint Research Center (JRC) and the European Committee of the Regions have launched a call of interest for pilot action on Partnerships for Regional Innovation. Up to 24 European participants from Member States, regions or groups of regions can take part in the initiative. 

The Partnerships for Regional Innovation will support the implementation of the objectives of European Green Deal, Horizon Europe, cohesion policy and the NextGenerationEU plan. The pilot action aims to improve the coordination and directionality of regional, national and EU R&I policies, focusing on innovation, industrial development industrial development, economic and social development and sustainability transitions. The pilot action is also intended to help support the green and digital transformation in Europe and to focus on bridging the innovation gap.  

Selected participants are expected to work closely with the Joint Research Center and the European Committee of the Regions to identify the areas they want to focus on as a part of the initiative. Participants can choose from the following areas, such as political or socio-economic challenges, specific economic sectors and / or policy areas and instruments. The activities will then be tailored to the areas of greatest interest to each participant. 

The application deadline is 25 April. The official launch event is scheduled for 17 May.
