Results of the EIT HEI Initiative’s second call have been published

The objective of this call is to implement activities aimed at improving the business and innovation capacities of universities at all levels. The second call, which was closed on 28 February, has received 56 applications and involved 683 organizations. According to the EIT, the high number of submitted projects confirms the interest in creating synergies between industry and higher education institutions to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in Europe. 

This year applicants include 311 higher education institutions and 372 non-higher education institutions. The consortia cover all Member States of the European Union, 6 non-European countries and 21 states that are part of the EIT Regional Innovation Scheme (EIT RIS). The call will support up to 40 consortia, with each project receiving up to 1,2 million EUR. From this amount, up to 300 000 EUR is allocated for phase 1 (July-December 2022) and up to 900 000 EUR to phase 2 (January 2023-July 2024).
