Mission on the New European Bauhaus

The New European Bauhaus initiative was launched by the European Commission at the beginning of 2021 and is based on three core values, which are aesthetics, sustainability and inclusion. Five EU Missions were also launched in 2021 and build on research and innovation, which aim to have a transformative impact on European society, economy and competitiveness.

The planned NEB Mission is based on innovation in order to transform Europe's neighbourhoods into more sustainable, inclusive, and beautiful places. This target should be met by 2035. These communities should therefore serve as "living laboratories" for innovation. The Mission also intends to increase civil society engagement, particularly in regard to Green Deal policies, in order to promote social responsibility for green solutions and to drive behavioural changes that will lead to the achievement of Green Deal targets.
