The next cut-off dates are on 15 June and 5 October 2022.

European Innovation Council (EIC) has published results of the first cut-off date of 2022 for the EIC Accelerator, which was closed on 23 March. More than 1000 start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises from 35 countries submitted their proposals. The high number of applications reflects on the continuing trend of strong demand for EIC funding.

724 companies (66% of the total number of applicants) applied for blended financing combining grant support with capital investments. 183 applicants applied for grant without equity and 186 companies applied for the grant in the first phase of their project with the aim of using the EIC equity at later stage. At the same time, this was also the first cut-off date for applicants from the Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) under the EIC “Fast Track” scheme.

Project proposals are now being evaluated by independent experts. In May, successful applicants will be invited to pitch their project to an expert jury composed of investors and business experts.

Future and new applicants can submit a short project proposal via the EIC AI platform at any time during the year. Applicants will also find a comprehensive guide on submitting project applications together with the FAQ on the EIC website. The next cut-off dates are on 15 June and 5 October 2022
