ASA and EBBA will support the acquisition of new skills in the mobility sector and the battery value chain

The collaboration aims to establish a strategic partnership focused on acquiring new skills (reskilling and upskilling).

The battery supply chain is expected to require up to 4 million jobs by 2025 as the energy transition accelerates. To meet market demand, up to 800 000 workers will require additional training. The Automotive Skills Alliance (ASA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the European Battery Alliance Academy (EBBA) in response to the growing demand in the mobility ecosystem. The collaboration aims to establish a strategic partnership focused on acquiring new skills (reskilling and upskilling) in the mobility sector and the battery value chain.

The partnership aims to contribute to the European Green Deal's objectives, reduce the carbon footprint of the mobility sector and strengthen the position of the European workforce within the framework of the Pact for Skills. As a result of this collaboration, a single pan-European framework will be created to enable the upskilling and reskilling of the automotive workforce across the mobility sector and the battery value chain. In order to accelerate the green and digital transition, the partnership will also act as an independent platform to connect industry, education providers, regions, policy makers and other key stakeholders.
