Erasmus+ Teacher Academies: Join the new initiative

Do you want to help improve initial and continuous teacher education? Don't miss the new Erasmus+ call.

Erasmus + Teacher Academies, a new initiative of the European Commission, was introduced in response to the need to increase the attractiveness of the teaching profession and improve the quality of initial training and continuous education of teachers.

The aim of this activity is to create international networks of providers of initial and continuous (lifelong) teacher education and other relevant actors involved in the professional development of teachers. Within these academies, the institutions involved should develop innovative teaching modules and practices in teacher education, strengthen international cooperation and sharing of good practice, as well as develop new models of teaching mobility. For the European Commission, strengthening the European dimension and internationalization of teacher education is essential.

The deadline for applications is 7 September 2021, successful projects should start in March–May 2022. The projects have a duration of 3 years and a maximum grant amount of 1.5 million eur. In the Communication on Achieving the European Education Area by 2025, the European Commission aims to create a total of 25 academies by 2025. This year, around 10 projects might be supported.

More info can be found in the minutes (CZ) from the info seminar, the presentations and the recording are available as well. The seminar was organized by the European Commission and EACEA on 10 June.
