The Fourth Higher Education Study Visit Opened Discussions on Current Challenges and Future Perspectives
The fourth edition of the study visit in the field of international education welcomed seven participants from Czech HEIs.
The five-day professional study visit focused on international cooperation in education and took place in Brussels from 20 to 24 October 2025. The participants attended a series of meetings, including one with a representative of the European Commission (Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture – DG EAC) and a visit to the European Parliament. They also met with representatives of associations and organisations active in higher education, such as the Academic Cooperation Association (ACA), the European University Foundation (EUF), EURASHE, or the Erasmus Student Network (ESN).
This edition’s participants represented the following institutions:
-
Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (AVU)
-
University of South Bohemia, Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters
-
Mendel University in Brno, Faculty of AgriSciences
-
Palacký University Olomouc, Faculty of Law
-
VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Safety Engineering
-
Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE)
-
University of West Bohemia in Pilsen

As in previous editions, the 2025 autumn visit followed several key objectives: One of them was to strengthen the participants’ professional competences and provide them with the latest information on the development of European higher education policies, for instance, on the European University Alliances or the possible future direction of the Erasmus+ programme after 2027. Equally important was creating space for open discussion on topics such as inclusion, internationalisation at home, and other issues that staff of international offices and related departments encounter on daily basis.
The programme of the visit also included meetings with colleagues from other national liaison offices within the IGLO network, as well as visits to local universities and educational institutions, which offered inspiration for developing new inter-institutional partnerships.
The next edition of the CZELO study visit focused on international education will take place in spring next year. Information about the opening of registration will be shared via our newsletter and social media channels.
