The European Commission has officially published the Horizon Europe work programmes with a budget of 14.7 billion euros
The first calls for project applications will open on 22 June 2021.
On 15 June 2021, the European Commission officially adopted and published the work programmes of Horizon Europe for 2021-2022, which will have for this period a budget of 14.7 billion euros. The work programmes are based on the Strategic Plan for 2021-2024, adopted on 15 March 2021. Large-scale investments in this programme should accelerate Europe's digital and green transitions, contribute to sustainable recovery from the coronavirus pandemic and to EU resilience against future crises.
The overall budget of Horizon Europe will support investment in research and innovation to support among others the European Green Deal (5,8 billions of euros) to make the EU the world's first climate-neutral continent by 2050. Another 4 billion euros will be used for the development of core digital technologies within Europe's Digital Decade EU´s Strategy, 1,9 billion euros will go to Recovery plan for Europe to help to repair the immediate economic and social damage brought about by the coronavirus pandemic.
