CZELO starts a Roadshow to present the future of EU research and education
Our office visited nine universities and the Czech Academy of Sciences between 11 and 18 May.
In response to the ongoing negotiations on the next Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, commonly referred to as FP10 or Horizon 2.0, as well as the proposal for a European Competitiveness Fund (ECF), our office launched a dedicated Roadshow initiative. As part of this effort, CZELO visited nine Czech universities and delivered presentations focused on the future of European research and innovation beyond 2027. The discussions demonstrated a strong interest in the future shape of the European research and innovation landscape after 2027. Representatives of the Technology Centre Prague, serving as the National Contact Points for the various areas of Horizon Europe, also contributed to the programme.
Participants were particularly interested in the preparation of FP10 and the ECF, the future of excellent research and instruments such as the ERC, MSCA and EIC, the continuation of Widening measures including Teaming and the Hop-on Facility, as well as the future direction of the European University Alliances, European Partnerships and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). A significant part of the discussion also focused on dual-use research, Open Science, international cooperation with non-EU countries, and the ways Czech institutions can actively contribute to shaping European policies, work programmes and strategic priorities in research and innovation.
Many of the topics discussed during the Roadshow are explored in greater detail in the article “What Changes Await European Research and Innovation Policy in the Next Two Years?”
