Apply for our Spring Study Visit on International Cooperation in Higher Education

CZELO

CZELO

A short-term professional study visit will take place from 20 to 24 April 2026. Applications can be submitted until 10 February.

The study visit is primarily intended for staff working in internationalisation departments, project managers at rectorates, faculties and departments, and other employees of Czech higher education institutions who deal with the internationalisation of higher education in their work, or who are interested in the topic and would like to gain a better understanding of it.

During the five-day programme, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about EU policies in international education, the European Education Area, and current strategies, and to gain deeper insight into how the Erasmus+ programme operates. The aim of the study visit is to help participants better understand how European and EU institutions function and what they do in the field of international education, and to facilitate the exchange of experience between Czech and Belgian, and potentially Dutch and French higher education institutions. Finally, the study visit may help Czech participants find suitable international partners for future cooperation or deepen existing partnerships.

The week-long programme will consist of thematic meetings with staff from EU institutions (e.g. the European Commission – DG EAC, the European Parliament), representatives of local universities and other stakeholder organisations active in Brussels (e.g. ACA or our partner offices within the IGLO network), representations of universities and university networks based in Brussels, and experts from the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the EU. Throughout the study visit, participants will be accompanied by staff from the CZELO office. The specific programme will be finalised, among other factors, based on the profiles of the selected participants and the current situation.

The study visit will take place on 20–24 April 2026, and applications can be submitted until 10 February 2026 (inclusive). Applicants will be selected on the basis of a motivation letter, which is part of the English-language registration form. As most of the programme will be conducted in English, participants are required to have at least B2 level English.

We also kindly ask that the application be completed exclusively by the applicant. Please do not use generative AI when preparing it; applications are assessed primarily in terms of authenticity and each applicant’s personal motivation.

A total of 7 places are available, and ideally each place should be filled by a different institution. Applicants will be informed of the results no later than two weeks after the application deadline. Before the study visit, a preparatory webinar will be held, during which participants will learn more about the programme, the content of the meetings, and expectations for the smooth running of the study visit. We expect all participants to take an active part, share experience from their university, and engage in discussions.

Participation in the study visit is free of charge; travel expenses and accommodation costs are covered by the sending institution/participant. Please note: the costs of the study visit cannot be funded as staff mobility under the Erasmus+ programme.
